Grateful for the grace to stand

I was working on accounting the day they came for their second donkey milk pickup. (I hate accounting. Donkey math never adds up.)

I sent my daughter to meet them.

She came back with this note.

"Hello,

We just wanted to take a moment to say “thank you.” Thank you for your sacrifice and willingness to go the extra mile not only for your family but for many who are suffering chronic illness. My daughter has been bed bound due to the effects of Lyme for the past 10 months. We have completed 2 pints of the (donkey) milk in 2 weeks. My daughter stood up by herself 5x’s in a row yesterday! (Day 12.) It was only for a few seconds each time but it was miraculous in our eyes. We just want you to know we are grateful.

P.S. Your family and your work are in our prayers.”

These are the stories that inspire us when things look impossible and the donkey math doesn't add up.

This note was a reminder that with God, all things are possible.

“Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.””‭‭Mark‬ ‭10‬:‭27‬ ‭NIV

Grateful to this family and all of you who have taken the time to say thank you and to pray for us.

We desperately need your prayers...

But, we really don't deserve your thanks.

"The servant does not deserve thanks for obeying orders, does he? It is the same with you; when you have done all you have been told to do, say, ‘We are ordinary servants; we have only done our duty.’” Luke 17:9

Give God the Glory.

For the humble donkey.

For the grace to stand when you face the impossible.

"But thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ! So then, my dear friends, stand firm and steady. Keep busy always in your work for the Lord, since you know that nothing you do in the Lord's service is ever useless." I Cor. 15:57-58

Nothing is useless.

Not the hours on your knees in prayer or the hours kneeling at the rear end of a donkey.

Stand firm, my friends.

And give Him the thanks for the strength to persevere.
